Agrocorp Processing Falher Update

Posted on October 29, 2015 · Posted in News

Up until now, it has been a relatively pleasant fall season in Falher, Alberta. Everyone has been hard at work bringing in the new crop harvest. At the Agrocorp processing facility, there has been a lot of crop brought into the plant and the staff have been busy processing and shipping. Overall the crop coming in seems to be quite decent with no major widespread quality issues reported in the eastern half of the Peace River Region. Market wise, we are finished the hangover of 2013 record production in Canada and are now transitioning into a relatively flat grinding market. Growers are being recommended to pick their spots and sell into momentum as it occurs.

Operationally, it has been a big year for the plant in Falher. At the start of the New Year in 2015, the Peace Country Oat Facility was bought by Agrocorp Processing and is now one of three Agrocorp plant locations. Agrocorp was very excited to acquire the facility and continue to develop relationships with local growers. We are looking forward to having a positive impact on the town of Falher and become a good alternative from the existing Line companies. So far we feel there has been as positive attitude towards our presence, and most have been seemingly pleased with the efficiency of our service and our prompt terms of payment. The plant is appreciative of all the producer support they have seen so far as we near our 1 year anniversary.

Since the beginning of the year, the plant has undergone some large repairs and extensions to get up to an efficient and productive operation level. The plant’s scale has been extended to 90ft to enable us to handle Super B’s and pay upon truck delivery weights. There have also been further mechanical repairs to the leg and spouting machinery in the plant, creating a more streamlined production process. Agrocorp Processing has also recently become certified as a primary licensed elevator, furthering the company’s reach to be a key player in the industry. With all these new upgrades, the plant has seen greater productivity and faster operations and we continue to look for ways to expand our capabilities to meet growers needs better.

We are currently in the market for CWRS, canola, peas, flax and oats. Producers interested in bringing in their product can contact the plant directly from the information at the bottom of the page. We love samples so please drop some off for grading (protein and oil content, etc).

Agrocorp Processing Falher is very excited about what is to come and look forward to continued success for the rest of 2015.
